$12,000 College Transfer Pathway Scholarship
Community college sophomores that complete an associate's degree this spring are eligible to apply to receive $12,000 dollars to be distributed over four semesters ($3,000 per semester) providing they are enrolled full-time and plan to transfer to an accredited academic institution to complete a bachelor’s degree in a mathematics, science, engineering or medical field of study.
NOTE: Students currently receiving an Alworth Scholarship are not eligible to apply. High school seniors must apply for the $24,000 scholarship for high school seniors. Here’s the link: http://www.alworthscholarship.org/highschoolsenior.html
Awards
Students awarded will be required to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0, major in an approved mathematics, science, engineering or medical field of study, and 50% of total credits each semester be in math, science, engineering or medical fields coursework.
Eligibility
To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must:
Evidence of Financial Need: information provided will be held in strict confidence.
The IRS 1040 for 2023 or 2024 is required for determining financial need and is due by March 15.
Financial eligibility: Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) must not exceed $175,000.
If student is listed as a dependent on parent’s IRS 1040, please submit the parent’s form for verification.
If student files their own IRS 1040, please submit your individual tax form.

be completing an associate's degree at one of the following community colleges listed below and plan to transfer to an accredited academic institution to complete a bachelor’s degree in a mathematics, science, engineering or medical field of study.
o Central Lakes College – Brainerd
o Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College – Cloquet
o Lake Superior College – Duluth
o Minnesota North – Hibbing, Itasca, Mesabi Range, Rainy River, Vermilion
o Northwest Technical College - Bemidji

be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status (green card).
•
have graduated from a high school, including homeschooled, in one of the following Minnesota counties: Aitkin, Beltrami, Carlton, Cass, Cook, Crow Wing, Lake, Itasca, Koochiching, and St. Louis.
•
be currently a sophomore graduating with an associate's degree (Transfer Pathway Curriculum) who plans to complete a Bachelor’s of Science Degree at another accredited academic institution.

be enrolled as a full-time student and commit to an approved major.
•
have a minimum cumulate GPA of 3.25 upon completion of their sophomore year (official transcript required).

be from a family whose Adjusted Gross Income is less than $175,000. Must provide verification by submitting most recent IRS 1040. If independent status, you must submit your own IRS 1040.
•
have demonstrated qualities of character, perseverance and ambition.
•
request one recommendation form from a math, science, medical or engineering instructor.
